ACCOUNT AND DATA DELETION
Delete your RemoScreen account
How to delete your RemoScreen account and its data, in the app or without it, and what happens to each kind of data.
Delete it in RemoScreen
The quickest way. It takes effect at once.
- Open RemoScreen (the desktop or mobile app, or the web console) and sign in with the account’s email address.
- End any session that is running.
- Go to Settings → Account → Delete account.
- Read what will be deleted, then choose Send code. We email a 6-digit code to the account’s address.
- Enter the code and confirm with Delete account. The code expires after 10 minutes.
A fresh emailed code is needed, so nobody who finds a signed-in computer or phone can delete your account.
Delete it without the app
If you cannot use RemoScreen, or no longer have it installed:
- Email [email protected] from the email address of your RemoScreen account, with the subject “Delete my RemoScreen account”.
- We may reply to that address to confirm. We do not act on requests sent from other addresses, so nobody can delete someone else’s account.
- We delete the account within 30 days, usually much sooner, and email you when it is done.
Uninstalling the app does not delete your account.
What is deleted
- Your email address and account record: plan, sign-in dates and your acceptance of the ad terms.
- Every desk of the account, on every device, signed in or not: its desk ID stops working, and its saved desks are deleted.
- Every sign-in, on every device and browser, ends at once.
- The history of sessions between your own desks.
- Your subscription, if you have a paid plan: it is cancelled at Razorpay at once, so you are not charged again. There is no automatic refund for the rest of the period; write to us if you think one is due.
What is kept, and for how long
- Other people’s history. A session between one of your desks and a desk outside your account stays in that desk’s History, because it is their record too, with your desk’s name replaced by “Deleted device”. It is removed when their history expires: 30 days after the session, or 365 days if they have a paid plan.
- Requests your desks made to other people’s offline desks. They stay on that desk, at most 7 days, with your desk’s name and ID taken out: only the time and the kind of request remain.
- Billing records. Razorpay keeps its own payment records and invoices under its terms and Indian law. We keep the payment, invoice and cancellation records that Indian tax and accounting law requires, for as long as it requires; in our service they carry only a random account ID that no longer leads to your email.
- Ad counts. Daily totals per ad, which were never linked to you.
- Backups. A copy can remain in our database backups until they are replaced by newer ones (we keep the 20 newest). We do not use backups to bring back deleted accounts.
- Limits on sign-in codes. Counters that hold your email address in memory for up to an hour, so deleting an account cannot be used to get around them.
- Your emails to us about the deletion, as a record that we carried it out.
After deletion
Deletion cannot be undone. If you sign in again with the same email address, you start a new, empty account on the Free plan, with new desk IDs.
Delete some data, keep the account
- Saved desks: remove them from your list of devices in the app or console at any time.
- Session history: it is deleted on its own after 30 days (365 days on a paid plan). To have yours removed sooner, email us from your account’s address.
- A desk you no longer use: it is deleted on its own once unused: a browser after 7 days, an app that took part in a session after 365 days. Signing out keeps a desk for when you sign in again.
